Self Description: I manage things for a living such as deadlines, people, moving parts that don't always want to move in the same direction and I'm good at it. I've also learned exactly when to stop managing and just let something be. At home I'm a completely different kind of person. I'm warm, not something I turn on just for company, and the people close to me tend to stay close for a long time. I want a family in the fullest sense of the word, not as an abstract idea but as something real and specific and mine, a home that has a particular smell and a particular feeling and a man at the center of it who chose all of this the same way I did, deliberately and without looking back, because he understood that this is what life is actually for and stopped needing to be convinced of that somewhere along the way.

Comments: I think about what it would feel like to come home to someone who already knows. I want that specific gravity between two people who chose each other with enough certainty that they stopped wondering, who built something together slowly enough that neither of them can point to the moment it became the most important thing, only that it did, and that the life they made has a warmth running through it that didn't come from anywhere else, just from the two of them deciding every day without drama or announcement that this is where they want to be. That's what I'm looking for not a feeling, but a life that has that feeling in it, and the man who wants to build it with the same seriousness and the same tenderness that I do.
